2019 Marketer of the Year Finalist for Australian Women in Wine Awards.
PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE USE | 15th August 2019
ELIZABETH CALABRIA-STALTARE – 2019 Marketer of the Year Finalist for Australian Women in Wine Awards.
Today, Thursday 15th August 2019, the board of the Australian Women in Wine Awards announced the 2019 finalists in the world’s only awards program for women in wine. Elizabeth Calabria-Staltare from Calabria Family Wines was named a finalist in the Marketer of the Year category sponsored by denomination - along with Imogen Hayes from Handpicked Wines and Rebecca Love from Howard Park Wines.
“The depth and breadth of talent we had enter the awards this year made it exceptionally difficult for our judges,” said Jane Thomson, AWIWA founder and chair. “And it just goes to show that after five years of operation, we are continuing to attract the very best female talent in the Australian wine community! Theirs are exceptional stories that deserve to be told and celebrated.”
Named after her grandmother, Bill & Lena’s youngest daughter, Elizabeth, always wanted to immerse herself in the work of marketing and design. Elizabeth quickly acquired a passion for the wine industry after seeing the fulfillment it brought to her parents. From completing school at Loreto College in Sydney, she went on to graduate as a Graphic Designer, followed by a Diploma in Marketing.
Like her siblings, Elizabeth worked in the family business while growing up and during college, from being on the bottling line, to labelling up export orders and wine tastings in the cellar door, with the intentions of further developing her product knowledge and, of course, getting to know Calabria customers. This allowed Elizabeth to broaden her skills in the company and see her take on the current role as Marketing and Brand Manager at Calabria Family Wines.
The winners of each award category will be announced at the 2019 AWIWA ceremony in New York on the evening of 17th September (morning of 18th September, Australian time) in partnership with Wine Australia. The ceremony, which is an invitation only event featuring over 35 Australian female wine producers in attendance as well as local trade, media and other special guests, will be live streamed back to Australia and around the world. About the AWIWA The Australian Women in Wine Awards – which are owned and operated by The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society – celebrate and reward the work of women in the Australian wine community, and community leaders who champion equality and fairness for all sexes in the workplace. They are the only awards program for women in wine in the world.
